Prior to Fresno State: Dempsey spent 2014-17 at De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif., where he took a redshirt in 2015 and played two seasons in the infield for the Dons in 2016-17... earned a pair of All-Coast Conference honors and was named the Team MVP under coach Erick Raich.... hit .329 from the plate with 47 hits, 20 RBIs and 16 stolen bases with a .420 on-base percentage as a freshman while hitting .247 with 36 hits, five home runs, 21 RBIs and 13 stolen bases as a sophomore... also played in the Junior College All-Star game and was a captain of the team.
