2017 (Sophomore): Ashford appeared in 57 games as a sophomore for the 'Dogs making 20 starts (18 at designated hitter and two in left field)... he hit .316 from the plate with 50 hits in 158 at-bats... totaled 12 extra-base knocks with eight doubles, three triples and one home run... scored 26 runs and drove in 33 RBIs on the season... recorded a .398 on-base percentage and a .424 slugging percentage... stole five bases tying for the fourth-most on the club... tallied 17 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI contests on the season... set a new career-high with four hits versus host New Mexico in the Mountain West Tournament... scored a season-high two runs in four games... drove in a season-high three RBIs at Pacific (April 19), at Nevada (April 23) and in the Mountain West Tournament vs. New Mexico (May 27)... 2016 (Freshman): Ashford appeared in 49 games as a freshman making 25 starts on the season... made 17 starts in left field and eight at designated hitter... one of the top hitting freshman in the Mountain West, Ashford hit .316 from the plate and totaled 36 hits with three doubles and a triple... scored 24 runs and totaled 14 RBIs along with stealing three bases... finished the season with a .360 slugging percentage, .402 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage... had eight multi-hit games... tallied a season-best three hits in three contests including a 3-for-3 performance with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored in a 6-4 win over CSU Bakersfield... Academic All-MW selection... Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
High School: Attended Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif., where he was a three-year letter winner in the outfield for the Bears... as a senior in 2015, Ashford hit .478 from the plate and had 27 stolen bases leading Buchanan to a 29-4 overall record and the Central Section Division I championship... earned many top accolades for his senior year performance as he was named the Fresno Bee Player of the Year, the Tri-River Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the Clovis Roundup Athlete of the Year... also named first-team all-state and to the 2015 Region 8 ABCA/Rawlings High School All-Region team, a list made up of the best prep talent in the country... as a junior, he hit .403 and had 11 stolen bases and was named first-team All-TRAC... was awarded the 2014 Silver Slugger Award for leading Buchanan in hitting... participated in the 2014 NorCal Rebook World Series and played in the California North-South All-Star game as a member of the North squad... was ranked by Perfect Game as the 53rd-best prep outfielder in California...also played wide receiver football for the Bears earning a pair of letters and was named second-team All-TRAC twice.
