2025 (JUNIOR): Served as the Bulldogs’ Friday night starting pitcher in 2025… had a 9-5 record in 16 starts… pitched 96.1 innings… owned a 5.98 ERA… struck out 109 batters and walked only 12… ranked 6th in the country in walks allowed per nine innings (1.12)... allowed only 64 earned runs… struck out 16 batters in 8.0 inning shutout outing against San Diego State (April 11)... earned multiple national player of the week honors following the outing including Perfect Game, Golden Spikes and NCBWA… participated in the 2025 MLB Draft Combine in Phoenix, Ariz.... Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 6th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
2024 (SOPHOMORE): While appearing in 11 games, 9 of which he started, Anker pitched a total of 49.2 innings and finished the season with a 5-1 record…posted a 4.35 era… struck out 44 batters... walked 10 batters ... while giving up 27 runs, 24 of which were earned runs… best two outings of the year came against Cal State Fullerton and San Diego State where both outings he pitched seven innings, gave up one earned run, struck out eight batters, and got the win in both games… began season as the Bulldogs’ Sunday starter but was removed from the lineup for a month due to injury on march 30 at UNLV… returned on May 7 to start at Pacific and made three more appearances to close the season… Earned Mountain West Pitcher of the Week twice in 2024 (February 19 & March 4).
2023 (FRESHMAN): Appeared on the mound 21 times in his freshman season with the Bulldogs, ranking third on the team… posted a 5.36 ERA… pitched career-high 4.2 innings in Bulldog debut in season opener against Michigan in the MLB Desert Invite… made first collegiate start against San Jose State at home (Apr. 23) … recorded 34 strikeouts on the season… gave up 50 hits and only 15 walks… pitched 42 total innings, the fourth most on the squad… ended 2023 with 3-4 record and two saves… struck out career-high six batters as in four innings pitched against Nevada (May 6).
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letter winner at Tulare Western High School in Tulare... was named a two-time EYL MVP and two-time All-Region selection... also was named All-State... as a senior in 2022, he threw 79.2 innings and 129 strikeouts with a 1.29 ERA ... 2021 Tulare Western Pitcher of Year... 2021 Fresno Bee All-Area Team... 2021 Oakland A’s Area Code Team Member.
PERSONAL: Son of Brooke and Case Anker... has three siblings, two sisters and a brother... enjoys playing golf and fishing in his free time... favorite athlete is Clayton Kershaw because he is a good, Christian competitor... favorite athletic thrill is pitching in a close game... chose Fresno State because he loves the blue-collar culture... also recruited by Cal Poly and Texas Tech… first memory of Fresno State is going to a baseball game with his cousins and making it on the news… great uncle was next-door neighbors with Betty White… volunteered with the Special Olympics in high school... agricultural business major.
