2025 (SENIOR): Served as the primary catcher for Fresno State, starting in 58 games as the backstop and one game as the designated hitter… owned a .316/.523/.401 slash line… in 237 at-bats, he had 7 hits, nine doubles, two triples and 12 home runs… scored 49 runs and drove in 45 RBIs… went 11-for-14 in stolen base attempts… had one of the best caught-stealing percentages in the country, throwing out 18 base-stealers out of 20… went on a 14-game hitting streak from March 28 to April 18… had three games with multiple home runs, against Cal State Bakersfield (Mar. 18 & May 6) and San Jose State (May 9)... named MW Player of the Week after an 11-hit week on May 12... drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 10th round of the MLB Draft.
2024 (JUNIOR): Splitting time behind the plate with Tyler Davis, Stransky appeared in 40 games in 2024 and started in 32 games as either the starting catcher or designated hitter… also appeared in three games as a pinch hitter… in 112 at-bats during the 2024 season Stransky posted a .314 batting average while collecting 34 hits and scoring 24 runs… hit three home runs, had 23 RBIs and totaled 51 bases while also slugging .455 and having an on-base percentage of .400… had a 7-game hitting streak early in the season between March 9 and March 24… against San Jose State in the Mountain West Tournament Championship game on May 26, he had three hits in five at-bats including a double and a home run while knocking in 4 runs and scoring one run…named 2024 Mountain West Championship All-Tournament Team… Academic All-Mountain West.
PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Spent two years at Lower Columbia College... in 2022, he was named First-Team All-Region, Second-Team All-NWAC and All-Region Gold Glove... in 2023, he was named First-Team All-Region, First-Team All-NWAC, First-Team All-Tournament, Third-Team All-American, All-Region Gold Glove and All-NWAC Gold Glove... batted .317 as a Freshman and .328 as a Sophomore.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Emerald HS in Puyallup, Wash., and graduated in 2021... played in the South Puget Sound League... was a three-year letter winner at second base and catcher... earned Second-Team All-Region... also played football and was named Second-Team SPSL Defensive Back and Running Back... member of the National Honor Society... volunteered at food drives and animal shelters.
PERSONAL: Son of Bobbie and David Stransky... has two older siblings, Randi and Derek... father played football for the Washington Huskies from 1979-83... favorite athlete is Ken Griffey, Jr. because he is a lifelong Mariners fan... enjoys golfing, watching movies, working out and playing video games in his free time… also recruited by Seattle U, Portland and CSU Bakersfield… chose Fresno State because the Red Wave creates a great environment to play in.
