2019 (Junior): Earned Second-Team All-American honors by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Sports Good... Stanford Regional All-Tournament Team selection.... Mountain West Tournament MVP.... Mountain West Pitcher of the Year... First-Team All-Mountain West selection... posted a 12-1 record to lead the MW in victories... made 16 appearances on the mound while being one of three 'Dogs to start a team-leading 15 games... led the Mountain West in innings pitched (100.0) while ranking second in strikeouts (107), fourth in opposing batting average (.217) and fifth in ERA (2.88)... tossed six or more innings in 13 of his 15 starts throwing a career-high 8.0 innings in three games (vs. New Mexico, 4/26, at UNLV, 5/16 & at Nevada 5/23).... struck out eight or more batters in seven games, reached double-figure strikeouts in four games and struck out a career-high 14 vs. Air Force (4/12/19)... closed out his career winning his final nine starts going 9-0 with a 2.32 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 66.0 innings while only allowing 14 walks & tallied eight consecutive starts of seven or more innings and had six starts with eight or more strikeouts in that stretch... selected in the first round (27th overall) of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs on June 3.
2018 (Sophomore): Jensen appeared in 18 games on the mound for the 'Dogs as a sophomore... made 11 starts to rank second on the team... posted a 2-6 record and a 5.35 ERA... ranked second on the team with two saves against Saint Mary's (April 17) and Hawai'i (May 13)... tossed 67.1 innings to rank 15th in the Mountain West... ranked eighth in the MW with 66 strikeouts... picked up wins in back-to-back weeks at New Mexico (April 6) and at home against San Jose State (April 13)... threw a season-high seven innings in his first two starts of the season against Michigan State (Feb. 16) & Houston Baptist (Feb. 23)... struck out a season-high nine against the Huskies of Houston Baptist and had seven contests with five or more strikeouts.
2017 (Freshman): Jensen appeared in 29 games out of the bullpen for the 'Dogs as a freshman finishing in a tie for ninth in the Mountain West... had a perfect 3-0 mark on the season as he was one of eight 'Dogs with three or more wins... made one start on the season against San Francisco (April 11) tossing three innings allowing six hits, three runs and added one strikeout in a 7-6 loss to the Dons... threw a season-high 4.1 innings at UNLV (May 7) allowing seven hits, five runs and notched three strikeouts... struck out a season-best four batters twice against Air Force (April 15) and at San Diego State (May 19)... ranked sixth on the team with 43.2 innings pitched and 35 strikeouts.
High School: A 2016 graduate of Salinas Union High School, Jensen ranked among the Top 500 players in the country by Perfect Game... was ranked by Perfect Game as the 16th-best right-handed pitcher in the Class of 2016 in California... was a 2015 NOR CAL High School All Star Team member... played in the North/South California Games where he was a South Participant... also played on the Oakland A’s Area Code Team in 2015... earned All-County Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2014 before being named Second Team All-County and the Salinas Union HS MVP in 2015... on the mound as a senior in 2016, Jensen went 2-5 with a 2.75 ERA tossing 40.2 innings with 48 strikeouts and held batters to a .162 average from the plate.
Personal: Son of Christine and Dale Jensen... enjoys fishing, playing with his dog Luna, hanging out with friends, watching the Food Network and cooking.. lists scoring four touchdowns in his last high school football game as his biggest athletic thrill... chose Fresno State because it is a championship program and they have his desired major ... major at Fresno State is plant science and crop production management.
