Former Fresno State defensive tackle Patrick Belony enters his second season as a defensive graduate assistant in 2022, first joining the staff for the 2021 season. Belony works directly with the defensive line, his former position group as a Bulldog.

Belony played collegiately for the Bulldogs from 2015-18, having been a part of some of the program’s fondest moments. Belony had his standout season as a Bulldog during Fresno State’s 2018 Mountain West Championship season. Belony played in all 14 games that year, including the MW Championship game and the Las Vegas Bowl, and totaled 16 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. The 2018 Bulldogs finished the season with a 12-2 record, earning the most wins in a single-season in Fresno State history.

Belony was also a part of the Bulldogs’ 2017 Hawai’i Bowl victory over Houston. In 2017, Fresno State became the second program in FBS history to go from a double-digit loss season to a double-digit win season.

Prior to his time at Fresno State, Belony spent one season (2014) at Antelope Valley College.

Belony, a native of North Miami Beach, Florida, earned his undergraduate degree from Fresno State in communication. As a graduate assistant, he will work towards his master’s in education.
