Manaia Brown joined the Fresno State staff as Assistant Director of Recruiting in April of 2026. He comes to the Valley from Northeastern State, where he spent the 2025 season as the defensive line coach. Prior to that, he was at Garden City Community College and has over ten years of coordinator experience. His 2024 defensive line all signed with NCAA Division I programs.Â
Brown played at the University of Nebraska as a freshman and saw action in the 2002 Rose Bowl / BCS National Championship Game. He later lettered three seasons at Brigham Young University (BYU) where Brown was a two-time All-Mountain West selection. Brown went on and signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Redskins.Â
