Internationally recognized as a leader in the area of sports development, Ron McKeefery has twice been named Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. First by the Professional Football Strength and Conditioning Society (2008 Under Armour Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year), and next by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (2016 Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year).
In 2013, Coach McKeefery was honored as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). The Master Strength and Conditioning Coach certification is the highest honor that can be achieved as a strength and conditioning coach, representing professionalism, knowledge, experience, expertise and longevity in the field.
Coach McKeefery picked up the highest designation by the NSCA in 2019 earning the Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach Emeritus (RSCC*E).
Prior to becoming the Assistant Athletics Director-Sports Performance at Fresno State, Coach McKeefery served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at both the Professional and Collegiate level. Working with such professional organizations as the: Cincinnati Bengals (NFL), Kansas City Royals (MLB), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) and the Berlin Thunder (NFL Europe), and collegiate programs such as Eastern Michigan, Tennessee, and South Florida.
Most recently he served as the Vice President of Performance & Education for PLAE where he worked with elite athletes and coaches around the world, including USA Team Football, the Chinese Olympic Committee, and the Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League and many others. In 2018, Team USA won the Silver medal at the World University Games in Harbin, China.
He has had the privilege of working with over 100 players that have gone on to play in the National Football League.
Composed of 36 NFL Draft Picks, including first round draft picks and Pro Bowlers Mike Jenkins & Jason Pierre-Paul, along with Cordarrelle Patterson and Ja'Waun James. He has had numerous All Americans, NFL free agents, and All-Conference selections.
Coach McKeefery has not just developed players, he has also mentored numerous Strength and Conditioning coaches that have gone on to great success in the field. Including World Champions: Dana Cavalea - Head S&C New York Yankees, Jake Beiting - Head S&C Houston Astros, and Derek Millender - Head S&C Cleveland Cavaliers.
Two coaches have gone on to be named Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year: Kaz Kazadi - Head S&C Baylor, and Lew Caralla - Head S&C Buffalo.
Coach McKeefery is a sought-after industry speaker. He has lectured for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches, United Kingdom, Australian, and Polish National Associations.
McKeefery is the author of the No. 1 Amazon International Bestseller(s) "CEO Strength Coach" and "Weight Room Wisdom". Additionally, he has been published in the NSCA Journal, American Football Monthly, and numerous other publications.
He has been married to his best friend Angela McKeefery since 1999.
The two adopted three children from Ukraine in 2005. At the time Tyler and Ava were 5-years-old and Maya was 3-years-old. They added a fourth child, James McKeefery, Ron's half-brother when his father passed away in 2011.
Currently the McKeefery's reside in Fresno, California.
