2015 (FRESHMAN): Competed in 19 matches for a total of 43 sets, while making seven game starts ... was one of only three freshmen to tally a double-digit block figure, as her season-high (8 blocks) came on the road versus Bethune Cookman (Sept. 5) ... Griggs' outstanding performance at the net against the Wildcats earned her a spot on the all-time blocking list, tied for third in three-set matches while ranking second team-wise during the 2015 campaign ... additional season-high figures included eight kills against Saint John's (Sept. 5), one assist and one service ace on three occasions, a pair of digs two times, while logging a personal-best hitting percentage of .625 in the conference home opener against San Jose State (Oct. 24) ... as a middle blocker, she contributed multi-kill efforts during nine contests with one or more digs on six occasions ... combined for 68 points scored on 50 kills, three service aces, one solo block and 28 block assists ... scored a high of 11 points against Bethune Cookman, lifting the `Dogs to their first three-set sweep of the season.
High School: A 6-2 middle blocker out of Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Calif., Griggs is coming off an excellent high school career in the Big VIII/Southern Section Division IA as a varsity athlete on the volleyball and track and field teams ... during her four-year varsity campaign she set the all-time blocking record with 115 blocks as a senior with a single game-high of 14 blocks ... the first-team All-State, All-League and All-Area recipient led Division IA Southern Section in blocks during the 2014 season ... Griggs played club ball for the Mavericks where she was named captain and helped the team to a bronze medal at the 2014 Junior Nationals and placed fourth in SCVA two seasons in a row (2012, 2013).
Personal: Entering Fresno State as a true freshman, Griggs intends on majoring in communicative disorders with an emphasis in speech pathology ... and chose to be a Bulldog because every aspect of the school was perfect including the volleyball program, the people, the facilities and the idea that Fresno State offers her unique major.
