Kellen Kubo

Kellen Kubo joined the Fresno State Softball program as a volunteer assistant coach in fall 2019 leading up to the 2020 season. Kubo has been coaching softball since 2006, bringing more than 13 years of experience into his new role with the Bulldogs.Â
A Fresno native, Kubo became a high school coach at Selma HS in 2010 and coached the squad through the 2017 season, leading the team to four section titles and three league championships. Following his time with Selma, Kubo served as the head softball coach at Clovis East HS from 2017 through 2019. He has a 157-112-3 all-time record as a high school coach.
Kubo also has significant coaching experience at the club level, having coached travel ball with Central Cal Dirt Dogs since 2013. He has served on the board for the last two years and has led his teams to the PGF National Championships five times, earning three top-10 finishes including a third place finish in the 14U division in 2018. Kubo also led his Dirt Dogs teams to the USSA USA Elite Select World Championships, the Colorado Junior Sparkler, and the ASA Western Nationals, where his 2014 16U team finished in second place.
Kubo has lived in Fresno all his life and currently works in sales and marketing for the Rhodes-Stockton Bean Co-Op in Tracy, Calif. He and his wife, Lauren, have been married for six years and have a one-year-old son, Beckett.
