She was named the San Joaquin Athletic Association Co-Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman and was the SJAA Co-Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore. Russell led her team in batting average (.562), on-base percentage (.638), and slugging (.843) while also recording 21 RBI when she was last on the field.
