Lieder has been instrumental in directing Fresno State[apos]s first-ever three-time WAC Steeplechase Champion and Fresno State record-holder, Kara June. Under Lieder[apos]s tutelage, June was Fresno State[apos]s lone competitor at the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning a wild card entry into the 3000-meter steeplechase as a results of her 10:25.47 time being one of the nation[apos]s top marks overall after NCAA Regional qualifying.
Lieder, an All-American in the 800 meters, still holds school records in the 800-meter run (2:07.03) and the 1,500 meter-run (4:24.68). She also ranks ninth on the Fresno State women[apos]s all-time 5,000-meter list in cross country. Lieder assisted former coach Red Estes as a cross country manager for two years and she also ran for the Reebok Aggies.
Lieder earned a Masters Degree in Kinesiology and was a member of Strategic Planning Committee in which she worked closely with Fresno State President, Dr. John Welty, regarding Title IX issues.
