Last updated on June 13, 2012 Fresno State: 2012 Outdoor (Junior): Competed in seven meets ... set personal record in the hammer throw at the Cal Poly Dual Meet on March 10 with a throw of 55.19m ... threw a season-best 15.15m in the shot put at the Brutus Hamilton Open on April 27 ... ranked fourth in the WAC for hammer throw and seventh for shot put. 2011 Track (Junior): Competed in nine meets ... named WAC Academic All-WAC and USTFCCA All-Academic ... threw a season-best 15.62 meters in the shot put at the Cal Poly Invitational placing in third ... in the hammer throw threw a season-best 55.07 meters finishing in first at the Cal Poly Invitational. Moorpark College: Competed two years on the track and field team...Western States Conference champions...was named to the hall of fame...recorded best of 47-4 in the shot put, 171-0 in the hammer throw and 138-0 in the discus. Prior to Fresno State: Four year varsity letterwinner on both the Bonita HS football and track and field teams...holds the school record in the shot put 53-3...was named the most valuable field athlete...was a CIF qualifier...earned most improved award in football. Personal: Born June 21, 1990 in West Covina, Calif....parents are Gabriel Acero and Judy Rodriguez...has one sister, Natalie...lists his interests as track and field stats, watching Hulu and special effects...is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)...his favorite athlete is Lucias Mackay 'because his glorious mustache'...most admired his parents who work hard to help him through school and people who work hard when no one is watching...chose Fresno State to work with coach Lisa Misipeka and the academic program.
