Fresno State Wrestling Finishes Dual Match Season in Impressive Style

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs took their annual Clovis High School home match and capitalized on the short jaunt with a win over the Stanford Cardinal 30-3.
Fresno State rattled-off seven consecutive victories against the Cardinal.
No. 6 Paris Ruiz (Sr., Fresno, Calif.) got the ball rolling with another impressive victory against a ranked opponent: No. 10 Zach Zimmerer 4-0.
Derrick Hayes (So., Seaside, Calif.) and Tim Cornish (Sr., Manhattan, N.Y.) got very impressive wins as Hayes defeated 17th ranked Rudy Ruiz 3-1 and Cornish just slipped by No. 16 Warren McPherson 2-1 in sudden death.
The `Dogs' attack just crippled Stanford's chances for the dual match victory.
Fresno State finishes with a 12-8 mark and will next be heading to Cedar Falls, Iowa for the Western Regionals on Saturday, March 4 at 9 a.m.
