Three 'Dogs earn Academic All-Big 12 honors

IRVING, Texas -Â Three Fresno State wrestling student-athletes have earned Academic All-Big 12 honors with two selections on the first team and one on the second team, as announced by the conference on Thursday.
Redshirt juniors Beau Colombini and Zack Gonzalez were two of 98 student-athletes named to the first team while junior Randy Gonzalez was one of 27 student-athletes on the second team.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
Colombini, who earned first team honors last season, is a native of Ukiah, Calif., and an agricultural business major while Zach and Randy are brothers from Lakewood, Calif., with Zach being a sociology major and Randy is an English-Creative Writing major.
The 'Dogs had seven Academic All-Big 12 honorees a season ago, three in 2019 and one in 2018.
