2020-21 (Junior): Second Team Academic All-Big 12 Selection ... went 0-10 at heavyweight ... competed at the Big 12 Championship falling to No. 5 seed Austin Harris (Oklahoma State) & Dalton Robertson (Northern Colorado) ... competed in all six duals and two matches at the season-opening Cal Poly Round Robin.
2019-20 (Sophomore): Went 1-8 at heavyweight ... collected a win at the Roadrunner Open with a fall over Prasad Dalvi (Unattached) in 2:55.
Prior to Fresno State: Finished fifth at the JC State Tournament at Cerritos College.... earned Academic All-American honors.
High School: Gonzalez attended Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Calif.... finished third at heavyweight as a senior in 2018... also finished third at High School Nationals... also qualified for the CIF State Tournament in 2017.
Personal: Son of Laura and Randy Gonzalez Sr... has two siblings, Zack and Braydon... undeclared major at Fresno State... enjoys writing in his free time... favorite athlete is Bruce Baumgartner who won four medals at the Summer Olympics, including two gold medals... choose Fresno State because it is an up and coming program in California and has a great coaching staff.
