Marshall Defeats Cal State Northridge in Classic Consolation Game

FRESNO, Calif. - Marshall shot 52 percent and outscored Cal State Northridge 47-23 in the second half en route to a 76-58 victory in the consolation game of the Fresno State Classic. The win improves the Thundering Herd's record to 2-2 while CSN drops to 0-3.
The Herd was paced by Ida Dotson's 16 points. Also scoring in double figures were Andrea Fitzgerald (14), Amy Reed (13) and Au'Yana Ferguson (10). Marshall shot an eye-popping 70 percent (14-for-20) in the second half. The Herd also outrebounded the Matadors 39-29.
Meanwhile, Cal State Northridge couldn't buy a basket in the second half, scoring only seven field goals and hitting only 29 percent of its shots. CSN didn't help its chances by committing 27 turnovers.
Cal State Northridge was led by Jenny Shetters' 16 points. The only other CSN player in double figures was Ebony Davis, who had 10.
