Two Bulldogs Honored By WAC

DENVER - Fresno State quarterback David Carr, Fresno State strong safety Bryce McGill and Nevada placekicker Damon Fine were named the offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
Carr, a senior from Bakersfield, Calif. (Stockdale HS), completed 22-of-29 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns in Fresno State's 37-18 win at Tulsa. After a Tulsa field goal, Carr directed the Fresno State offense to 31 straight points including touchdown passes of 27, 30 and 42 yards.
McGill, a sophomore from Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield HS), recorded seven tackles, two interceptions, three pass deflections and one quarterback hurry in the Bulldogs' victory. He had 47 yards in returns on the two interceptions and his first pick set up a Bulldog touchdown.
Fine, a freshman from Indianapolis, Ind. (Ben Davis HS), nailed all three of his field goals attempts (24, 40 and 22 yards) and added an extra point in Nevada's 28-20 win over Hawai'i. The three field goals were the most by a Nevada kicker in five years.
Other offensive nominees included junior running back Brock Forsey, Boise State, sophomore quarterback Timmy Chang, Hawai'i, freshman running back Chance Kretschmer, Nevada, and sophomore running back Eric Richardson, Tulsa.
On the defensive side, nominees included sophomore linebacker LaGary Mitchell, Boise State, sophomore free safety Ronnie Hardiman, Nevada, and senior free safety Harold Burgess, Tulsa.
Special team nominations included senior kicker Chris Earnest, Tulsa.
