Almada/Suta Fall in Semifinals of Omni Hotels Regionals

FRESNO, Calif. - The doubles run of Hector Almada and Stefan Suta ended with a loss in the semifinals of the Omni Hotels Regional Championships, completed yesterday in Moraga, Calif.
The eighth-seeded duo fell to No. 8-seeded Sam Warburg and Carter Morris of Stanford 8-5. It was Almada and Suta's first loss of the season and dropped the tandem's record to 7-1 on the year.
Suta's day didn't end on a bad note, however. The sophomore claimed the consolation singles title with two victories. He knocked off Washington's Nick Weiss in the semifinals 6-1, 6-1 then ended things with a 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-1 win over Taylor Bedillion of Santa Clara.
Fresno State wraps up the fall season at the Santa Clara Invitational, which takes place Nov. 8-10 at Santa Clara University.
