In March, Fresno State wrestler Stephen Abas won the 125-pound title at the NCAA Championships in Albany, N.Y., making him the first three-time national champion wrestler in Bulldog history.
Considered one of the top wrestlers in the nation, Abas' list of accomplishments are lengthy. Here is a look at the bevy of accloades Abas rang up during his time at Fresno State:
- Three-time national champion at 125 pounds (1999, 2001, 2002)
- First Fresno State 3x champ
- Is the 40th wrestler in NCAA history to win three national titles
