Wrestling Wins Eighth Dual in a Row

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State took to the road on Friday night and defeated Cal Poly 25-12. The victory was the Bulldogs' ninth dual win in a row, the longest for a Fresno State wrestling team since the 1994-95 season.
The dual started at the 141 weight class. Junior Casey Olson won the first match by decision over Andy Kim 7-3. Junior Jim Medeiros won at the 157 division by a decision of 6-3 over Nick Hopping.
Senior Ben Baca weighed in at the 174 division and took his match over Joe Brady by a major decision win of 16-8.
The night's only pin came from Greg Gifford. He took down Ryan Halsey with 1:45 left in the second period.
Marcio Botelho, Clint Walbeck and Ben Martinez all scored decision wins over their opponents.
The Bulldogs next dual and final home match of the season is Sunday at noon against No. 12 Arizona State.
