Wrestler Places Eighth at NCAA Championships

FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Marcio Botelho lost his final match of the season by pin to Kyle Smith of Michigan in the seventh-eighth place playoff at the NCAA Championships.
The podium finish means Botelho closes out the season as an All-American and with a overall record of 35-10. He becomes the 33rd wrestler in Fresno State history to earn All-America honors.
As a team, the Bulldogs finished in 30th place with 15 points. Oklahoma State won the team title with 143 points. Minnesota was second.
