FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State returns to Bulldog Stadium this week to host Oregon State in the 2003 home opener. The Bulldogs and Beavers will square off on Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. It marks the fourth time since 1999 the two schools have played against one another, including the third year in a row. This is the third year in a row a national television audience will be watching the Fresno State vs. Oregon State contest.
Fresno State leads the Beavers 7-5 in a series that has been dominated by the home team. The Bulldogs are a perfect 5-0 all-time against Oregon State at home but just 2-5 versus the Beavers in Corvallis. The last time the two teams hooked up at Bulldog Stadium resulted in a 44-24 Fresno State victory over an Oregon State team that had been picked No. 1 in the nation in the preseason college football edition of Sports Illustrated.
