FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State hits the road this week for another tough non-conference test. The Bulldogs will take on Oklahoma, which enters this week 2-0 and ranked No. 1 in both major polls. It marks the first time in program history the Bulldogs will play against the nation's top-ranked team. The game is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. PDT time and will be televised by KFRE.
Last week, the Bulldogs knocked off non-conference rival Oregon State 16-14 at Bulldog Stadium on Brett Visintainer's 47-yard field goal with 31 seconds left. Jeff Grady passed for a career-high 276 yards and a touchdown in picking up his first ever victory as a starting QB. Marque Davis was on the receiving end for seven of Grady's passes, and the senior finished with 129 yards. The victory marked the fifth consecutive year Fresno State has won its home opener. Three of those wins ? California in 2000 and Oregon State in both 2001 and '03 ? were against BCS schools.
The Bulldogs and Sooners have never met before. Saturday will be Fresno State's second ever non-conference game in the Sooner State, the other being a 1997 contest against Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
