Visintainer Named WAC Special Teams Player of the Week

DENVER - Louisiana Tech running back Ralph Davis, Nevada defensive end Jorge Cordova and Fresno State placekicker Brett Visintainer were named the Western Athletic Conference offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
Davis, a senior from Shubuta, Miss. (Jones County CC), rushed for a career-high 95 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries (6.3 yards per carry) in Louisiana Tech's 34-3 win at Louisiana-Lafayette. One of his touchdown runs was from 35 yards out in which he broke six tackles. Davis also caught two passes for 20 yards in the game.
Cordova, a senior from Murietta, Calif. (Murietta HS), made 14 tackles (12 solo), including four for a loss of 14 yards in Nevada's game at Oregon. He also had two sacks for a loss of 10 yards and recovered a fumble in the contest.
Visintainer, a redshirt junior from San Ramon, Calif. (San Ramon HS), kicked a career-long 47-yard field goal with 31 seconds left to give the Bulldogs a 16-14 win over Oregon State. He also added two other field goals of 20 and 28 yards in the game and scored 10 of Fresno State's 16 points.
Other offensive nominees included senior running back David Mikell, Boise State; senior quarterback Jeff Grady, Fresno State; and freshman wide receiver Anthony Pudewell, Nevada.
On the defensive side, nominees included senior safety Wes Nurse, Boise State; senior defensive end Claude Sanders, Fresno State; and senior defensive end Jemelle Cage, Louisiana Tech.
Special team nominations included sophomore punt returner Brad Allen, Boise State; and senior placekicker Josh Scobee, Louisiana Tech.
