- The 42-0 win was Fresno State's first shutout of the Pat Hill Era and the first for the Bulldogs since 1996 against Hawaii (20-0).
- Fresno State's 42 points was the second-highest total of the year (45 at Kansas State). The Bulldogs are averaging 37.3 points per game in their four wins while giving up just 13.5 points.
- The remaining four games all come during the month of November. Fresno State is 18-3 under Pat Hill in regular season in November and December.
- Pat Hill picked up his 59th career win, moving him within one of James Bradshaw (1936-42) for second-most in school history.
- Fresno State was 6-for-6 on PATs, bringing its consecutive streak to 121, the longest in the nation.
- The Bulldogs close out their WAC series with SMU having beaten the Mustangs in five of the six games played. Fresno State held SMU to just 7.6 points per game in those five victories.
- Fresno State's 35 points in the first half was the most in a half since Dec. 1, 2001, when it had 56 against Utah State.
- Nate Ray's first quarter interception was the second INT of his career, with both coming against SMU at Bulldog Stadium.
- Paul Pinegar's 46-yard run was the longest by a Bulldog QB since Trent Dilfer ran for 56 yarder against BYU in 1992.
- Pinegar improved his record as a starting quarterback at Fresno State to 19-8, for a .703 winning percentage, moving him ahead of David Carr. That ranks third-best in school history.
- The Bulldogs blocked a punt in the win, their third block of the season and 52nd since Pat Hill took over in 1997. Fresno State is averaging one block every 1.9 games under Hill.
- Following are some Fresno State firsts:
- Garrett McIntyre and Dwayne Andrews both collected their first fumble recoveries.
- Jaron Fairman caught his first career TD.
- Charles Tolbert picked up his first career interception.
- Jordan Christensen saw playing time as a quarterback for the first time in his career.
- It was the first time this season the Bulldogs did not have a turnover.
- The Bulldogs 465 total yards were a season high, as were their 7.3 yards per play on offense. Fresno State was also 8-of-11 on third downs, the best conversion rate of the year.
- The 23 first downs recorded were second-most on the year.
- Paul Pinegar did not have an interception in nine games, dating back to a win over San Jose State in 2003.
