Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State wrestling has completed the second day of wrestling at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational, where senior Clint Walbeck finished seventh in the heavyweight division. He was the only finisher for the Bulldogs, who were one of 45 collegiate teams competing in the tournament.
Walbeck took seventh place by pinning Mitch Manstedt of Nebraska in 2:04. Walbeck finished the tournament with a 5-2 record for the tournament.
Junior Garrett Spooner also wrestled well on the second day. He continued a run through the consolation brackets which ended with a loss to Kortney Lake of Adams State just one round before the placement matches.
The Bulldogs also had four other wrestlers compete on the final day of the two-day tournament, which helped pace them to a 20th place finish at the tournament.
Fresno State's next wrestling action will occur on Sunday, Dec. 19th, when the Bulldogs head to Reno for the Reno Invitational. That tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m.
