Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State wrestling has announced that Cory Borges, Eugene Yasatomi and Dustin Rocha have all signed letters of intent to attend Fresno State and join the wrestling squad. This class, focusing on lightweights, will give the team increased competition at the three lighter classes next season.
Borges was the California state champion at 119-pounds in 2004-05, and was a two time finalist at 119-pounds. Coming out of Hughson High School in Hickman, Calif., Borges will look to start at 125-pounds this next season.
Yasatomi is a junior college transfer who won the California Junior college championships this past season, and is eligible to wrestle for next season. He is also expected to challenge for a spot at either the 125-pound or 133-pound weight class next season.
The final recruit from this period is 132-pounder Dustin Rocha. Rocha, a senior out of Lemoore High School had a good showing at the High School Nationals and projects to be a 141-pound wrestler in college.
The three signees join Firebaugh High School standout Paul Ruiz, who declared his intention to wrestle at Fresno State during the early signing period. Ruiz finished second in the California State Championship at 119-pounds, losing in the final to Borges.
