Track And Field Wraps Up Action At Chico Relays

FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State's track and field squad wrapped up an impressive afternoon at the Chico Wildcat Relays on Saturday, with the women claiming a first-place finish while the men tied with Chico State for top honors.
The women totaled 166 points, followed by Chico State (160) and Cal State Stanislaus with 58. On the men's side, Fresno State held off a late surge by Chico State as both clubs recorded 166 points. Cal State Stanislaus was third with 62 points.
The Bulldogs were once again led by Ryan Moore on the men's side. Moore posted the top time in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.37 and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that took first at 3:17.60. Three other Bulldog relay squads (4x200, 4x400, 800 sprint medley) also took first.
Adam Andresen and Alex Jones recorded season-high marks in the pole vault and long jump, respectively. Ian Mason finished third in the 5000-meter run at 15:04.37 and steeplechase at 9:53.27.
In the women's competition, Katie Richardson notched a season-best 162-1 in the discus while taking second in the hammer and javelin. Stacy Hunt reached a personal-best 11-8 in the pole vault.
Fresno State was strong in the relays, capturing first-place honors in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 and distance medley.
Other Bulldogs collecting up first-place honors were: Tonisha Henson, Erica McCoy, Winnie Fletcher, La'Sha Hill, Jamie Farley and Mallory Webb.
The Bulldogs are at the Cal Poly Invitational next weekend.
