Bulldog Update
Fresno State participates in a three-way meet with Mt. San Antonio College and Cal State Bakersfield later this week in Walnut, Calif. It will represent the second team-scoring event for the Bulldogs during the outdoor season, as both squads placed first at the Chico Wildcat Relays. Fresno State is coming off a strong performance at the Cal Poly Invitational last weekend.
MEN'S TEAM
Strong Outings Highlight Cal Poly Invitational
Fresno State's track and field squad turned in a strong outing on both the men's and women's sides Saturday afternoon at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo. The Bulldogs posted three first-place performances. Jesse Smith ran a season-best 10.85 in the 100-meters to take first while De'Ante Brown leaped 22-11 (6.99m) in the long jump to claim the event title. The Bulldog's 4x100-meter relay squad checked in at 42.34.
A Look Back: 2005 Tri-Meet w/ Mt. SAC/CSUB
The Fresno State men's track and field squad completed a sweep of Cal State Bakersfield and Mt. San Antonio College in a tri-meet despite wet and windy conditions at a rain-soaked Warmerdam Field. The Bulldog men totaled 165.5 points total, finishing ahead of runner-up Mt. San Antonio College with 108.5 and third-place Cal State Bakersfield with 77 points. Fresno State recorded nine-first place finishes, led by six in running events alone. Chris Berrian earned top honors in both the 100-meters (10.3) and 200-meters (21.0) while the Bulldog's 4x100 relay team took first with a 41.00. Alex Jones notched a personal-best 23-8.25 (7.22m) to win the long jump and Dave Endler tallied an NCAA Regional mark in the discus with a 173-3 (52.82m).
`Dogs Deadlocked With Chico State
Fresno State wrapped up an impressive afternoon at the Chico Wildcat Relays, finishing in a first-place tie with host Chico State. The Bulldogs held off a late surge by Chico State as both clubs recorded 166 points. Cal State Stanislaus was third with 62 points. The Bulldogs were once again led by Ryan Moore. The junior posted the top time in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.37 and was a member of the 4x400-meter relay team that took first at 3:17.60. Three other Bulldog relay squads (4x200, 4x400, 800 sprint medley) also took first. Ian Mason finished third in the 5000-meter run at 15:04.37.
Season Gets Underway In Turlock
Fresno State netted six first-place finishes at the Stanislaus Open in Turlock, Calif. on Mar. 4. Two of those came from Ryan Moore, who ran a 47.85 in the 400-meters and 52.95 in the 400-meter hurdles. The Bulldog's 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams also checked in first.

Strong Outings Highlight Cal Poly Invitational
Fresno State's track and field squad turned in a strong outing on Saturday afternoon at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo. The women's club tallied five first-place finishes, as Mallory Webb and Katie Richardson came close to surpassing personal-bests in the javelin and discus, respectively. Both athletes have already established NCAA Regional qualifying marks in those events. Webb captured top honors in the javelin with a season-best toss of 162-6 (49.53m) while Richardson almost equaled her career-high with a season-best throw of 164-7.75 (50.19m) in the discus. Regina Ollison, who has already locked up an NCAA Regional berth, won the triple jump title at a season-high 39-0.75 (11.91m). La'Sha Hill placed first in the shot put at 46-9 (14.25m) while the 4x400-meter relay team ran a 3:50.33 to lead the field.
A Look Back: 2005 Tri-Meet w/ Mt. SAC/CSUB
The Fresno State men's and women's track and field squads completed a sweep, winning titles on both sides in a tri-meet with Cal State Bakersfield and Mt. San Antonio College despite wet and windy conditions at a rain-soaked Warmerdam Field. Fresno State registered 165.5 points for the win. Mt. San Antonio College took second with 117.5 while Cal State Bakersfield checked in third at 56. The women totaled nine first-place efforts on the afternoon. Zinzi Evans (800-meters), Valeria Delgado (1500-meters) and Andrea Buckner (5000-meters) all captured running titles. Lexine Lesser matched her season-high with a victory in the pole vault at 12-6 (3.81m).
`Dogs Claim First At Wildcat Relays
Fresno State wrapped up an impressive afternoon at the Chico Wildcat Relays, claiming a first-place finish with 166 points. Chico State was the runner-up with 166 points while Cal State Stanislaus placed third with 58. Katie Richardson otched a season-best 162-1 in the discus while taking second in the hammer and javelin. Stacy Hunt reached a personal-best 11-8 in the pole vault. Fresno State was strong in the relays, capturing first-place honors in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800 and distance medley.
Season Gets Underway In Turlock
Three Bulldog throwers posted NCAA Regional qualifying marks on Mar. 4, highlighting Fresno State's performance at the Stanislaus Open in Turlock. La'Sha Hill (shot put), Katie Richardson (discus) and Mallory Webb (javelin) all surpassed the NCAA Regional qualifying standard as the Bulldog women's team registered 11 first-place finishes. Hill threw a career-best 48-4.50 (14.74m) in the shot put, Richardson's toss of 161-5 (49.20m) in the discus led the field and Webb recorded a mark of 149-6 (45.58m) in the javelin.
