Scouting New Mexico State
The Aggies will be the first road test in the WAC this season for the `Dogs. NMSU got off to a hot start on the season winning 19 games before WAC opening weekend. They are 0-2 in conference playing after dropping two games on the road at defending WAC Champion Nevada. The final game of that series was cancelled due to snow. The Aggies defeated New Mexico 8-7 in a non-conference game on Tuesday. New Mexico State is 20-12 overall and 11-4 at home. They are 1-5 in their last six games. Tiare Jennings leads the team with a .456 batting average followed by Hoku Nohara hitting .427. Jennings leads the team with 11 home runs. In the circle, returning pitcher Kim Watson paves the way with a 2.39 ERA and a 9-7 record. Fresno State and New Mexico State began the series back in 1989 with the `Dogs owning a 23-1 record, with the only loss being a 5-4 Aggie victory back in 2001 at Bulldog Diamond. The two teams played five times in 2008, including twice in the WAC Tournament.
Pacific Game Rescheduled
The Bulldogs were scheduled to play a doubleheader in Stockton vs. Pacific on Valentines Day, but due to weather in the Central Valley the games were rained out. On March 31 at 2 p.m. the Bulldogs and Tigers will make up one game in Stockton.
