`Dogs Conclude Northwest Regional

FRESNO, Calif. - Rikus de Villiers and Remi Boutillier conclude their competing in singles and doubles today at the ITA Northwest Regional.
In singles Round of 16, de Villiers, seeded at No. 9, faced California's Christoffer Konigsfeldt, seeded No. 5. The senior Bulldogs pushed the sophomore to a tiebreaker in the second match, but fell to Golden Bear, 6-2, 7-6(2).
Seeded at No. 17 in the tournament, Boutillier took on nationally ranked and ITA Regional Champion in 2008-09 season, Alex Clayton from Stanford. The senior Tree earned the victory, 6-4, 6-4 and advanced to the Quarterfinal Round.
In doubles Quarterfinals, Boutillier and de Villiers batteled No. 9 seeded California's Carlos Cueto and Jonathon Dahan. Going to extra sets the Golden Bears drew the victory, 9-7.

The Bulldogs will rest this upcoming and then travel to Moraga, Calif. to compete in the Saint Mary's Invitational. This will be the `Dogs final tournament until the dual season starting January.
