Doubles Team Takes Consolation Bracket

FRESNO, Calif. - In the first round, No. 13 ranked, Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers competed against Kentucky's Brad Cox and Eric Quigley. After taking them to a tiebreaker, the `Dogs took the lead and defeated them, 9-8(3).
Advancing to the second round, the `Dogs were matched up against Tulsa's Alastair Barnes and Grant Ive. Coming off a win and with high-energy, the `Dogs earned the victory, 8-6.
Starting off Saturday in the semifinals, de Villers and Boutillier battled against No. 16 ranked Sebastian Carlsson and Neal Skupski from LSU. Adding another victory to their record, the `Dogs defeated the Tigers, 8-2.
In the final round of consolation bracket, Fresno State took on Tulsa's No. 38 ranked Cliff Marsland and Ashley Watling. Finishing the weekend with another victory, the `Dogs defeated Tulsa, 8-5.
The `Dogs will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., Oct. 15-19 for the ITA Northwest Regional.
