Six Future Bulldogs Sign NLIs

FRESNO, Calif. - Six future Bulldogs signed National Letters of Intent this winter to attend Fresno State and play for the Dogs starting in the 2011-12 academic year.
The six additions are Taylor Green (Chino Hills, Calif.), Kelly Megee (Riverside, Calif.), Brenna Moss (Bakersfield, Calif.), Caitlin Neal (Pleasanton, Calif.), Maria Sio (Lake Forest, Calif.) and Michelle Solomon (Beaumont, Calif.).

Taylor Green (5-7 R/L) - Chino Hills, Calif./Ruben S. Ayala High School (C/1B):
Three-year varsity player ... 2010 Max Prep National Top 50 Fielding Leader: No. T1 fielding percentage (1.000) and No. 2 putouts (315) in 31 games played ... 2010 CIF Southern Section Softball Division III champions ... Two-time All-Sierra League ... Three-time Scholar-Athlete ... Has helped the Bulldogs to three consecutive Sierra League titles while compiling a 73-26-1 overall record the last three seasons ... Behind the dish, has posted two 1.000 fielding percentage seasons (junior/freshman) ... Has committed just eight errors in 717 total chances for a prep career fielding average of .989 (671 putouts, 38 assists) ... On the ASA level, the Corona Angels finished third at the 2010 Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championship ... 2010 ASA 18-Under Champions Cup winner ... Was the runner-up at the 2010 Canadian Open Fastpitch in Surrey, BC.
Wright on Green...
"We are very excited about Taylor joining us. We never have had a left-handed catcher and I think she will bring a great dimension to our defense. Her ability to also play first base is a big plus. She is a great young woman and ball player"
Kelly Megee (5-11 R/R) - Riverside, Calif./Martin Luther King High School (1B):
Two-year varsity player ... Two-time Scholar-Athlete ... Two-time Honor Roll honoree by sporting a 3.6 or higher cumulative GPA ... Batted .360 as a freshman and .385 as a sophomore for the Wolves ... On the ASA level, helped the Corona Angels to a first place finish at the 2010 Premier Girls Fastpitch National Qualifier ... Also assisted team to a championship title at the 2007 & 2008 ASA National Championship Qualifier ... 2006 ASA Southern California State Championship runner-up ... 2004 & 2006 ASA National Championship runner-up.
Wright on Kelly Megee...
"Kelly is a student of the game and a great power hitter. At six feet tall, she will be a great first baseman for our relatively new infield next year and her ability to hit the long ball is quite impressive. She too is an impressive young woman and will do great in the classroom and on the field."
Brenna Moss (5-7 L/R) - Bakersfield, Calif./North High School (OF/3B):
Three-year varsity player ... Three-time First Team All-Southwest Yosemite League ... Two-time First Team All-Area ... Two-time Cal-Hi Sports' All-State Second Team Underclass ... Two-time team MVP and best defensive player ... Selected rookie of the year ... Two-time jockey club award winner ... In prep career, is hitting .518 (177-342) with 130 runs, 103 RBI, 11 doubles, 16 triples, 6 home runs, 238 total bases, .696 slugging percentage and 58-61 stolen bases ... Has helped the Stars to a 77-30-1 prep record ... As a junior, batted .562 (63-112) with 37 runs, 44 RBI, 7 doubles, 7 triples, 4 home runs, 96 total bases, .857 slugging percentage and 17-19 in stolen bases ... Batting average was fourth in the Central Section and best among Division I or II schools by 25 points ... Also ranked in the area's top five in runs and RBI ... As a sophomore, hit .560 (61-109) with 48 runs, 26 RBI, 3 doubles, 7 triples, 2 home runs, 84 total bases, .771 slugging percentage and 21-22 in stolen bases .... "Brenna is an outstanding young woman and softball player and we can't wait for her to be a Bulldog. She is very fast and will make things happen for us offensively. Caitlin Neal (5-7 R/R) - Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill High School (C/3B):
While now attending Foothill High School, was a three-year varsity player at Granada High School ... Two-time East Bay All-League ... Earned a NCS/CIF Distinguished Scholastic Award ... In her last year with the Matadors, she batted .347 with 21 hits, 2 triples, home run and 9 RBI ... As a sophomore garnered the team's best defensive award ... In the summer of 2010, competed in the inaugural ESPN Rise National Softball Tournament ... On the ASA level, she batted .407 with 29 hits, 5 doubles and 19 RBI with the Northwest Bullets Gold last summer ... In 2009 with the Sorcerer 18 Gold, she hit .356 with 13 hits, 2 doubles, home run and 13 RBI ... In 2008, she batted .412 with 25 hits, 2 doubles, home run and 19 RBI for the 16-Under Grapettes.

"Caitlin is a wonderful young woman with the ability to routinely hit balls over the fence and in the gaps. She is a fine receiver behind the plate and her offensive ability will be a big plus for a young Bulldog team in 2012."
Maria Sio (5-7 R/R) - Lake Forest, Calif./Laguna Hills High School (SS/3B):
Three-year varsity player ... 2010 All-CIF Southern Section Second Team ... Three-time All-Pacific Coast League ... As a prepster, is batting .346 (91-263) with 58 runs, 68 RBI, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 122 total bases, .464 slugging percentage and 1-1 in stolen bases ... As a junior, hit .430 (37-86) with 21 runs, 27 RBI, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 51 total bases, .593 slugging percentage and 1-1 in stolen bases ... As a sophomore, batted .280 (23-82) with 15 runs, 20 RBI, 2 doubles, home run, 28 total bases and .341 slugging percentage ... As a freshman, hit .326 (31-95) with 22 runs, 21 RBI, 3 doubles, 3 home runs, 43 total bases and .453 slugging percentage ... on the ASA level, helped the Corona Angels to a first place finish at the 2010 Premier Girls Fastpitch National Qualifier.

"A shortstop by trade, Maria is able to play every position in the infield and could likely play the outfield as well. Maria has a great personality and will bring out the best in her teammates. Her versatility will be a big plus and she will make a difference."
Michelle Solomon (5-6 R/R) - Beaumont, Calif./Redlands High School (OF):
Three-year varsity player ... 2010 All-CIF Southern Section Second Team ... 2010 All-Area Second Team ... Three-time All-Citrus Belt League ... Three-time league champions ... Two-time CIF Semifinalist ... Assisted the Terriers to back-to-back undefeated seasons in league play as a freshman and sophomore ... Has helped Redlands to a 71-20 worksheet the last three years ... In prep career is batting .417 (105-252) with 69 runs, 67 RBI, 17 doubles, 9 triples, 7 home runs, 161 total bases, .639 slugging percentage and 28-31 in stolen bases ... In the school's career record books, ranks among the top five in stolen bases (No. 2), runs (No. 3), hits (No. 4), home runs (No. 4) and RBI (No. 4) ...
