Bulldogs Swing to Victory

FRESNO, Calif. - The No.30 ranked Fresno State men's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Loyola Marymount on Friday Feb. 11 at the Wathen Tennis Center.
Coming off a lost against Texas Tech , the Bulldogs were in full swing today achieving an early start by winning the doubles point.
Paired together for the first time this spring 2011 season, Rikus de Villiers and Jean-Charles Diame dominated court two against LMU's Tyler Gottshall and Jack Zapala earning a victory for the Dogs, 8-4.
Also dominating in doubles, Remi Boutillier paired with Francis Alcantara to take on the Lion's Daniel Simko and Nicholas Bjerke. Competing on court one the Dogs pulled ahead and defeated the Lions earning them the victory for the doubles point.
Fresno State's success continued in singles, bringing in victories on courts one through five.
Tackling their opponents early on de Villiers, Boutillier and Alapati all conclude competition within minutes of one another. They earned the next three points for Fresno State, putting the Dogs ahead of Loyola Marymount 4-0, granting them the victory.
Diame and Alcantara were the final wins of the day by the Bulldogs. Diame competed on court No. 2 and Alcantara competed on court No. 5.
Loyola Marymount earned a victory on court 6.
Fresno State is back in action tomorrow against Pacific at 2 p.m. at the Wathen Tennis Center.
