FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State softball team will host the 2011 Bayer CropScience Classic from March 10-13 at Bulldog Diamond and all-tournament tickets are available for as low as $15 for adults and $8 for youth.
The 2011 Bayer CropScience Classic will feature No. 23 Fresno State along with No. 11/10 California, Bradley, Drake, Idaho State and Troy for the annual non-conference tournament.
This is the second year that Bayer CropScience is the title sponsor of the tournament.
General admission all-tournament tickets can be purchased for $15 for adults or $8 for youth and seniors. Upper reserved all-tournament tickets are $25 and lower box seating for the four-affair is $40 per ticket.
The Classic will start on Thursday, March 10 with a matchup between Idaho State and Troy at 4:30 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. contest featuring Fresno State and Idaho State.
Over the four-day span, there are 16 scheduled games, including six Fresno State contests.
On Saturday, March 12, all fans wearing costumers (no masks are permitted) for Character Day will receive free admission to the Fresno State's games against Drake (5 p.m.) and Troy (7 p.m.).
The Bulldogs will face the Golden Bears to close the Classic on Sunday, March 13 afternoon at 2 p.m. The first 500 fans in attendance will get a free Fresno State cup in honor of Alumni and Men's & Women's Fastpitch Day.
Bulldogs to Host 2011 WAC Softball Tournament May 11-14
Fresno State will serve as the hosts for the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Softball Tournament from May 11-14.
The top six schools qualify for the double-elimination tournament with the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament awarded to the winner.
The Bulldogs have won three WAC Tournament titles (2009, `07 and 1999) and 10 of the past 15 regular season WAC championships.
Ticket information will be announced later in the season.
"We Are Your Team!" --- Fresno State takes to the road for the next month and returns to Bulldog Diamond on March 10 when the Dogs host the 2011 Bayer CropScience Classic.
