Rosario Sanchez named Fresno State Athlete of the Week

| Rosie Sanchez won the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship Indoor Track and Field Meet title for the shot put event this past weekend. The senior from Selma, Calif. heaved a 50-2.75 (15.31m) mark to take the title and earn some important points for her team. This is her first title in the shot put for indoor track and field, Sanchez finished second in 2008. Sanchez is also currently serving as the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Other nominees included: 2010-11 Athletes of the Week:
