FRESNO, Calif. - After a two game absences on the court, junior Rosie Moult made a big impact in the Bulldogs 71-61 win over Seattle University on Wednesday afternoon. Moult scored a career-high 27 points and shot 75 percent from beyond the arc.
"We play well against the zone," said Moult. "We are able to play to space and get the open shot. It's not just me getting the open shot. My teammates helped by making the cuts and finding the open shot."
Moult, a Preseason All-WAC selection, broke Fresno State's single-game record for 3-pointers made after making 9-of-12 attempts. Former Bulldogs Jaleesa Ross and Yannick Souvre held the previous record of eight treys in a game. Moult was three 3-pointers shy of the NCAA record of 12 set in 1995 by LSU's Cornelia Gayden.
"She did what she is good at," said head coach Adrian Wiggins. "She also played well defensively. We gained some experience while she was out, but it's obvious we're a better team when we have her."
Sophomores Taylor Thompson and Ki-Ki Moore led the team with eight rebounds each. Thompson also contributed 13 points and three assists. Freshman Madison Parrish scored 10 points.
Fresno State(12-4, 0-0 WAC) jumped ahead of Seattle U making 4-of-6 from 3-point range in the first six minutes of the game. At the first media timeout, the Bulldogs led the Redhawks 14-10 with 14:49 left in the first half.

In the first half, Moult led the team with 12 points making 4-of-6 3-point attempts. Thompson added eight first half points and four rebounds. Moult hit her seventh 3-pointer of the afternoon with 15:50 left on the clock setting a new career-high for 3-pointers made in a single game.
The Bulldogs went on a 12-3 run to pull ahead of Seattle U leading 58-43 with 7:57 left in the game. Fresno State's largest lead of the day was 19 points with 5:41 left in the game.

"Seattle U is a good team and well coached," said Wiggins. "It was a great game for us to play. They tried a lot of different things defensively and we saw four or five different looks, which is a good thing right before we open conference play. Overall, I think we were able to grind out a nice win."
