No. 14 `Dogs Beat Badgers, 4-3

Fresno, Calif. - The No. 14 Fresno State men's tennis team continued its winning streak against Wisconsin Saturday afternoon with a, 4-3, win at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs (10-1) swept the Badgers (5-5) at all doubles positions. No. 3 doubles duo Jean-Charles Diame and Sai Kartik Nakireddi began the Bulldog victory with a, 8-4, win over Alex Robles and Rod Carey. Zachary Leslie and David Ayoun quickly followed at No. 2, defeating Alexander Kostanov and Petr Satral, 8-5. At No.1 doubles, Remi Boutillier and Francis Alcantara defeated Fredrik Ask and Billy Bertha, 8-6.
The Badgers came back fighting in singles play with a win at No. 6 singles. Andy Quirk beat freshman Reid DeLaubenfels, 6-2, 6-1. Senior Diame answered back for the `Dogs at No. 3 with a , 6-2, 6-4 defeat over Carey. At the No. 4 spot senior Ayoun beat Satral, 7-6 (5), 6-0, to put the `Dogs within one point of the win.
No. 17 Boutillier clinched the win after falling behind in the second set at No. 1, beating Kostanov, 6-4, 1-6, 6-0. 52nd-ranked Alcantara suffered his first lost of the season against Ask, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 2 spot. Leslie dropped to Quinton Vega, 4-6, 6-4, 2-0 def., in the last match of the day at No. 5.
The `Dogs return to courts Tuesday when they face-off against Idaho at 5 p.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
