`Dogs Finish Day One of St. Mary's Invite

MORAGA, Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team concluded day one of the St. Mary's Invitational on Friday at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga, Calif.
The Bulldogs went 1-for-4 in singles play on day one of the invitational. Junior Rana Sherif Ahmed defeated Santa Clara's Chelby Cooke, 6-4; 7-5.
In doubles, Ahmed paired with senior Tanya Murtagh to record an 8-4 victory over Jaimee Gibertson and Natalie DaSilveira of UC Santa Barbara. Senior Anne Susdorf and junior Anneka Watts also teamed together in doubles to defeat Cal Poly's Dane Joubert and Louise Oxnevad, 8-4.
Due to a rain delay, the `Dogs will be back in action on Saturday at approximately 11 a.m. to complete in singles, doubles play will resume on Sunday, Oct. 26.
