Bulldogs in the Summer Leagues

FRESNO, Calif. - As we approach the midway point of July, many Fresno State Bulldog baseball players are playing in summer leagues across the country. Let us take a look at how each player is performing this summer.
Anthony Arias, Pitcher, Brewster Whitecaps (Cape Cod League)
Arias, a redshirt sophomore, is pitching for the Brewster Whitecaps (Mass.) out of the Cape Cod League this summer. A southpaw from Fairfield, Arias has pitched in seven games making four starts. His best outing of the season so far came in his last game on July 7 picking up the win over the YD Red Soxs pitching five innings allowing two earned runs and tallied 10 strikeouts; his second 10-strikeout performance of the year.
Aaron Arruda, Outfielder, Crystal Lake Cardinals (Chicago Suburban Baseball League)
The sophomore outfielder from Fresno is playing this summer with the Crystal Lake Cardinals of the Chicago Suburban Baseball League. Playing in 10 of the Cardinals' 16 games, Arruda is among the team leaders with a .308 average and is tied for fourth on the club with 12 hits.
Korby Batesole, Infielder, Anchorage Pilots (Alaska Baseball League)
Batesole ventured up to Alaska this summer to play for the Anchorage Pilots of the Alaska Baseball League. The infielder from Clovis has appeared in 13 games collecting four hits with one run and one RBI.
Ryan Dobson, Infielder, Humbolt Crabs (Far West League)
Dobson, a junior infielder from Culver City is playing for the Humbolt Crabs of the Far West League in northern California. Starting 29 games at shortstop, Dobson ranks fifth on the team with a .294 average and has collected 30 hits, scored 19 runs and has stolen nine bases this summer.
Austin Guibor, Outfielder, Victoria Harborcats (West Coast League)
One of three Bulldogs to travel across the border to Victoria, British Columbia in Canada this summer, the soon-to-be junior from Campbell has appeared in 20 games in the outfield for the Harborcats. He has 14 hits, including four for extra bases and has scored 10 runs.
Torin Goldstein, Infielder, Victoria Harborcats (West Coast League)
Also a member of the Harborcats for the summer, Goldstein has appeared in 16 games in the infield and has six hits and four runs scored. The redshirt sophomore from Irvine also has a home run and two runs driven in.
Dylan Lee, Pitcher, Crystal Lake Cardinals (Chicago Suburban Baseball League)
Lee, a senior pitcher from Dinuba, is one of three Bulldogs playing this summer on the Crystal Lake Cardinals of the Chicago Suburban Baseball League. Appearing in five games with two starts, Lee has notched a 2.60 ERA in 17.1 innings along with a team-best 28 strikeouts. In a June 23 start against the Homestead Ranchers, Lee pitched six innings allowing four earned runs along with 11 strikeouts.
Jesse Medrano, Infielder, Humbolt Crabs (Far West League)
Medrano, a rising junior infielder from Concord, joins Dobson in the middle infield on the Crabs. Starting 29 of the Crabs' 30 games at second base, Medrano is hitting .277 at the plate and has three doubles and two home runs on the summer.
Rickey Ramirez, Pitcher, Mankato Moondogs (Northwoods League)
Ramirez is playing this summer for the Mankato Moondogs (MN) of the Northwoods League. The soon-to-be redshirt sophomore pitcher from Sagus has appeared in 12 games tossing 21.1 innings and 30 strikeouts while posting a 2.95 ERA.
McCarthy Tatum, Outfielder, Anchorage Bucs (Alaska Baseball League)
Tatum is playing this summer on the Anchorage Bucs of the ABL and has appeared in eight games collecting three hits, two RBI and a run scored.
Ricky Thomas, Pitcher, YD Red Sox (Cape Cod League)
Thomas is pitching this summer for the YD Red Soxs (Mass.) in the Cape Cod League. Traditionally one of the top summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country, Thomas has been fantastic against the tough competition posting a 4-0 record in four starts with a 0.73 ERA and 23 strikeouts. In his first two starts of the summer, the right-hander, who will be a sophomore in the fall, did not allow a run scored and only five hits.
Dominic Topoozian, Pitcher, Victoria Harborcats (West Coast League)
Joining a pair of teammates in Canada, Topoozian has appeared in seven games on the mound for the Harborcats making five starts. The soon-to-be senior has tossed a team-high 37.1 innings and a 1.92 ERA allowing only eight earned runs and has a club-best 27 strikeouts.
Nick Warren, Catcher, Anchorage Bucs (Alaska Baseball League)
Playing with fellow Bulldog McArthy Tatum on the Anchorage Bucs, Warren has played in eight games and has one hit, two runs scored and has drawn four walks.
Brennon Williams, Pitcher, Crystal Lake Cardinals (Chicago Suburban Baseball League)
Joined by teammates Arruda and Lee on the Crystal Lake Cardinals, Williams has made a pair of appearances on the mound this summer, including one start on June 16 against Romeoville Royals where he tossed five innings allowing three hits, three runs (one earned) and two strikeouts.
Kevin Viers, Infielder, Anchorage Pilots (Alaska Baseball League)
Viers joined Batesole on the Anchorage Pilots of the Alaska Baseball League and has had a solid showing so far this summer. Appearing in 18 games, the rising senior first baseman, is hitting .260 from the dish and is tied for second on the team with 13 hits. The Yorba Linda native is also among the team leaders in doubles (5), triples (2), RBI (10) and walks (12).
