Bulldogs start Arizona trip with 4-3 defeat to LMU

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Fresno State men's tennis team opened up competition in Tuscon, Ariz., on Friday as the Bulldogs fell in a tight 4-3 dual to Loyola Marymount at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
LMU captured the doubles point with victories on courts two and three, as Jeremy Moser/Jakob Keppelmann were bested by Charles Boyce/Cristobal Rivera, 6-2. Lukas Moenter and Luke Bohuslav clinched the point with a 6-4 victory on the final doubles court against Youssef Hassan and Nikolas Papic.
Despite straight-set wins coming from Mantas Bugailiskis and Papic on court two and three, LMU's Moenter ended the match at No. 6 with a 7-6(2), 6-1 defeat of Patrik Pech to end the match. The Bulldogs also picked up one final point from Hassan as he defeated Bohuslav 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3).
Fresno State will be back on the courts tomorrow to face No. 72 Arizona at noon.
