LOGAN, Utah - The Mountain West's top ranked team, No. 56 Utah State, was too much on Sunday for the Fresno State men's tennis team as the Bulldogs fell 4-0 at the USU Outdoor Courts. The 'Dogs dropped to 8-13 on the year while the Aggies improved to 20-6.
Fresno State pushed Utah State in doubles play, forcing the top two matches to six-all, but a 7-0 tiebreaker defeat on court two gave the opening point to USU. The Aggies jumped on the 'Dogs quick in singles play, scoring 6-1, 6-1, and 6-4, 6-1 wins at the No. 6 and No. 2 positions, respectively. With two matches heading into third sets, Utah State's Luis Lopez ended the dual match with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Youssef Hassan at the No. 4 spot.
Fresno State will travel to Air Force on April 15 with the conference match starting at 1 p.m. PT.
