Triebe wins gold draw at Cal Fall Invitational

BERKELEY, Calif. - Fresno State's Juliane Triebe earned her first-career tournament championship in convincing fashion on Sunday at Hellman Tennis Complex. Winning three matches in straight-sets during the first two days of the Cal Fall Invitational, the sophomore continued her run on the final day, winning her last two matches of the Gold Singles draw in straight sets.

Triebe defeated San Francisco's Alexa Meyer, 6-3, 6-3, in the championship match. Along with a quarterfinals appearance with Abbey Watanabe in the Gold Doubles draw, Triebe finished her weekend with a 7-1 combined record.

Fresno State finished the three-day tournament with a combined 14-8 record.

The Bulldogs will travel to Moraga, Calif. on Oct. 6 to play in the three-day St. Mary's Invite.
