Mimi Ho headlines Bulldogs’ trip to LVCS

Senior Mimi Ho finishes in second place of 95 individuals at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown
Boulder City, Nev. – Fresno State senior Mimi Ho captured a career-best second place finish at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, carding a final round tournament-low 4-under-par 68 on Tuesday that led to a 54-hole 6-under-par 210.
Ho shared the runner-up position with Emma Allen (Missouri), while the medalist honor went to UNLV's Elizabeth Prior, who shot a 16-under-par 200.
As a team, Fresno State placed fifth out of the 16 teams in action. The Bulldogs' 4-over-par 868 tournament score ranks as the third-lowest in program history. Tuesday's final round was a 3-over-par 291.
"I am really proud of the ladies for such a strong finish today in tough conditions," said head coach Emily Loftin, as high winds troubled the field. "It was a different golf course today versus the first two rounds, and it was exciting to see them grind it out over the last few holes."
In addition to Ho, freshman Brigitte Thibault also claimed a top 20 individual finish as she tied for 13th overall. Thibault fired a final round 2-over-par 74 and was 1-under-par (215) for the tournament.
Ho and Thibault closed with birdies on their 18th holes, in part of the strong finishes Loftin reflected on. Ho carded 13 birdies overall while Thibault recorded 12 during the three-day event.
Senior Samantha Spencer recorded a career-low 1-under-par 71 final round as well as a career-low 5-over-par 221 tournament score. Spencer placed tied for 33rd.
Freshmen Alison Muirhead, 9-over-par 225 (T-54th), and Emma Larsson, 18-over-par 234 (T-82nd), capped the Bulldogs' team scores.
Individual Kelsi Stieler finish tied for 72nd with a 15-over-par 231.
