• Fresno State and BYU are meeting for the second time since 1998, and first since 2015 when the 'Dogs went to Provo. The all-time series is knotted 5-5.
• Of 21 coaches in FBS football who have returned to be the head coach at their respective alma maters, tonight's game features two of them in Jeff Tedford (Fresno State, '92) and Kalani Sitake (BYU, '00).
• If Fresno State captures its sixth win on Saturday, Jeff Tedford will become the third head coach in the history of the program to lead Fresno State to a bowl game in year one - joining Tim DeRuyter (2012) and Alvin Pierson (1945).
• KeeSean Johnson, with 30 consecutive games with at least one reception, is among a group of 14 individuals in the nation that carries a streak of 30 games or more.
• Marcus McMaryion has 98 straight passing attempts since throwing his only interception of the season (in the third quarter against Nevada).
• Key stat: The Bulldogs' offensive line that ranks No. 2 in the nation in tackles for loss allowed (3.25 per game) goes up against a BYU defense that ranks 120th in the nation in team TFLs (4.2 per game) manufactured.
• Locked in at the start: Fresno State's opponents have scored just three points combined in the first quarter over four games at Bulldog Stadium.
• Fresno State continues to hold first place in the West Division of the Mountain West standings despite its loss to UNLV last Saturday. San Diego State is one game back in the West; both teams have three league games remaining on their respective schedules.
• The last time BYU played at Bulldog Stadium, Billy Volek led the way in 1998, going 14-of-22 for 189 yards and two TDs, and ran for one as well, in a 31-21 win.
