2017 (Junior): Named an All-Mountain West second-team selection … started all 14 games … led the team in receptions (77), receiving yards (1,013) and touchdowns (8) for the second-straight season … led the team in all-purpose yardage (1,034), chipping in 21 yards on four punt returns on top of 1,013 yards receiving … caught at least one pass in all 14 games in 2017, extending a streak to a program record 36 consecutive games dating back to 2015 with at least one catch, breaking Henry Ellard’s record of 34 set from 1979-82 … ranked third in the Mountain West and 29th in the nation in receiving yards (1,013), ranked third in the MW and 42nd in the nation in touchdown receptions (8), ranked fourth in the MW in receptions per game (5.5) and fourth in the MW in receiving yards per game (72.4) … registered four 100-yard receiving games – Sept. 2, Incarnate Word (102); Sept. 30, Nevada (104); Oct. 14, New Mexico (105); Nov. 25, Boise State (119) – ranked third in the MW with most 100-yard receiving games … matched single game career-high of three touchdowns versus Nevada – one of three MW receivers to catch three TDs in a single game, tops in 2017 … had a season-high eight receptions on two occasions, Sept. 9 at No. 1 Alabama and on Dec. 24 vs. Houston in the Hawai’i Bowl … made a career-long 81-yard touchdown reception on Nov. 25 against No. 23 Boise State, marking the longest play from scrimmage for the season and the Bulldogs’ longest play from scrimmage since Sept. 17, 2016 … caught at least four passes in 13 of 14 games and at least six passes in seven of 14 games.
2016 (Sophomore): All-Mountain West honorable mention selection … started all 12 games … led the team in receptions (66), receiving yards (773) and receiving touchdowns (6) … ranked third in the league and 45th in the nation in receptions per game with 5.50 per game … ranked seventh in the Mountain West in receiving yards (773) and eighth in the league in receiving yards per game (64.4) … tied for the team lead in all-purpose yards with 1,049 as he returned 11 kickoffs for 227 yards and six punts for 36 yards … posted single-game career bests for catches (10), receiving yards (142) and receiving touchdowns (3) in a single performance vs. Air Force on Oct. 28 – the sophomore’s three touchdowns were the most in a single game since Davante Adams did so against San Jose State on Nov. 29, 2013 … tied a MW single-game season-best with seven other players in the league for receiving TDs in a game (3) … his 143 yards against Air Force was the 15th-best single game performance in the league in 2016 … forced a fumble chasing down San Diego State’s safety Kameron Kelly after an interception on Oct. 14 … posted longest career catch (53 yards) in season finale vs. San Jose State on Nov. 26 … logged at least five catches in eight of the first nine games this season … caught at least one pass in each game in 2016 and has caught at least one pass in 22-straight games dating back to last season.
2015 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in all 12 games, making 10 starts on the season … ranked second on the team with 37 receptions … had 364 yards receiving and two touchdowns on the year … also returned one punt for seven yards in the San Diego State game … led the team with seven receptions for 90 yards on Sept. 26 at San Jose State when he caught his first career touchdown pass, a 29-yard score … caught another TD for the second consecutive game on Oct. 3 at San Diego State when he lead the team with five receptions.
2014 (Freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Was a two-way standout for coach Earl Hansen at Palo Alto HS ... caught 58 passes for 1,015 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior ... averaged 17.5 yards per catch ... returned three punts for touchdowns in 2013 ... on defense, he had 38 total tackles and three interceptions as a senior to help lead the Vikings all the way to the Division II CIF Central Coast Section semifinals ... as a junior, he hauled in 15 passes for 266 yards and one TD while averaging 17.7 yards per reception ... helped his Vikings squad earn a CIF Central Coast Open Division Playoff berth in 2012 ... also played guard on the Palo Alto basketball team and averaged 9.0 points per game as a junior.
Personal: Born in Mountain View, Calif. ... son of Monique Burns and Sean Johnson ... has one older brother, Vince Miles, who played safety at San Jose State (2014-15) after transferring over from Arizona ... attended the same high school as former Bulldog wide receiver Davante Adams, who left Fresno State as the school’s all-time leader in receptions and touchdown catches following the 2013 season ... major at Fresno State is criminology-law enforcement.
