Junior guard Liv Roberts, who came into the game averaging 15.8 points per game and in double-digits for 19 straight games, was held to seven points and 11 rebounds. The 'Dogs held the Cowgirls to 36.7 percent (18-49) from the field and 36.8 percent (7-19) from behind the line.
How It happened: Taking a 12-11 lead after the first quarter, the 'Dogs were held to 30.8 percent (4-13) shooting in the second quarter to trail 29-25 at the break.
Trailing at halftime for the 11th time in the last 13 games, the 'Dogs outscored Wyoming 12-9 in the third quarter to cut the Cowgirls' lead to a point at 38-37 as White scored the final five points of the frame with a 3-pointer and a layup.
After a fastbreak layup by Tapia pushed Wyoming's lead to four at 44-40 with 5:06 to play in the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs took over from there with a 10-0 run over the next 3:34 to take a 50-44 lead. The run was highlighted by a 3-pointer from freshman guard Kristina Cavey and a three-point play by White and were followed by a pair of free throws from Volk and White and was keyed by a big-time block from Faz Davalos with 2:36 to play that would have tied the game at 46 apiece.

Quotable:
Jaime White, Fresno State head coach
Opening statement on the team's win…
"It was a fun game. I thought our student-athletes played hard for all 40 minutes tonight. We played great defense; to hold that team to 47 points was a great accomplishment and overall just a great team win. It wasn't like we had one person doing well, Bego and Candice obviously did well, but we needed everybody – especially defensively. We had a nice run towards the end, tightening up the defense and getting some rebounds, and overall, we had the will to win.
On the success from the team's underclassmen…
"I felt like everybody that played really gave it their all. Anais really gave us some good minutes in the first half, and Kristina's three, even with her fumbling it on the catch, you knew it was going in. We know she can hit those shots and those are the kind of things that build confidence. We kept trying everything, and our girls stayed resilient. I also thought our girls also did a good job of attacking, so that we could draw some fouls. Overall, we shot 87 percent from the free throw line and that was really nice. Down the stretch, it's important that we continue to hit those free throws."
On the momentum after today's final score…
"It feels good. I feel like we played really comfortable here tonight and that was positive for us. Our crowd was great, we had the ROTC here, they took us on a retreat with them, and so we were proud to play in front of them. We learned a lot on that retreat about toughness and resilience and I think that we are showing it. Going in to the Colorado State game, I think it is a great opportunity to keep this streak going and continue to move forward on the second half of this conference."
Bego Faz Davalos, junior center
On second half defense…
"I feel like all of the physical games are frustrating, but it was still very exciting because nobody was down, nobody wanted to give up. Everybody wanted to fight back tonight and that was really good."
On rallying her teammates to stay in the game…
"I knew we were going to win, I really did. It was the momentum that we had, I knew that if everything kept going right, we would keep that momentum and stay excited. From there, we just get more confident about it."
On facing Colorado State next…
"We look forward to playing them every year since they have won. They are a great team and it is a great opportunity for us to go ahead and get the win."
Candice White, sophomore guard
On important of the three-point play in the fourth quarter…
"I had an open lane and I knew she was going to fall for the pump fake if I went for it. In practice, we practice [the pump fake] all the time because I'm a lot smaller than most post players, so I just made sure to keep that in mind. I was very excited, and that's an understatement. I was happy because it helped us take the lead and we needed a spark after Kristina's three."
