'Dogs fall to Pacific 4-3

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team fell in a close match to Pacific Monday afternoon 4-3.
The Bulldogs drop to 8-7 on the season.
'Dogs grab the doubles point
Euan McIntosh and Jeremy Moser defeated Pacific at No. 1 doubles 6-4, to lead the charge for the Bulldogs.
Xander Veys and Mantas Bugailiskis clinched the doubles point at No. 2 doubles with a 6-2 win over the Tigers.
Singles came down to court #1
Fresno State took a quick 2-0 lead when Zdenek Derkas defeated his opponent in straight sets at the No. 3 position.
The Tigers put their first dent in the scoreboard at the No. 4 position when Ross Watson defeated Mantas Bugailiskis 7-5, 6-1.
The match was tied 2-2 when Jeremy Moser was defeated at the No. 6 position by Bryan Husin 6-0, 6-6(6).
Euan McIntosh put the 'Dogs up 3-2 when he defeated his opponent at the No. 2 spot in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
The Tigers took a crucial point at the No. 5 spot when Akram El Sallaly defeated Youssef Hassan in a three-set tiebreaker (6-2, 6-4, 6-6(4)).
The match was clinched at the No. 1 spot when Miguel Diaz defeated Xander Veys in three sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The Bulldogs go on the road to face Santa Clara March 18 at 2 p.m. PT.
Fresno State will return home Sunday, March 19 at 1 p.m. PT in the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center to host Cal Poly.
