Mustangs best 'Dogs 4-2

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team fell to Cal Poly Sunday afternoon 4-2.
The Bulldogs fall to 8-9 on the season.
Mustangs grab the doubles point
Cal Poly claimed the win at No. 3 doubles over Youssef Hassan and Zdenek Derkas 6-3.
Xander Veys and Mantas Bugailiskis defeated their opponents at the No. 2 doubles position 6-1.
No. 44 Corey Pang and Ben Donovan of Cal Poly defeated Euan McIntosh and Patrik Pech at the No. 1 doubles position to earn the doubles point.
The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead into singles.
Bulldogs defeated two ranked players
Euan McIntosh started singles strong for the Bulldogs defeating No. 85 Ben Donovan at the No. 2 position 6-1, 6-2.
Cal Poly regained the lead when Youssef Hassan fell at the No. 5 position to Antoine Noel 6-1, 6-4.
The Mustangs extended their lead to 4-2 when Garret Auproux defeated Henrique Wojciecnowski Osorio 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 4 spot.
Xander Veys defeated No. 100 Corey Pang in the No. 1 spot in three sets (6-4,0-6,6-2).
Cal Poly clinched the match at the No. 6 position when Mantas Bugailiskis fell to Axel Damiens in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 6-3).
The match in the No. 3 spot was left unfinished.
What's next?
Fresno State will go on road for three matches to face the University of Hawaii (March 24), Washington (March 25) and New Mexico (March 31).
The Bulldogs return home Sunday, April 2 to host Air Force in their conference home opener at 1 p.m. PT in the Wathen G. Spalding Tennis Center.
